Noby Noby Boy, am I the only one that see’s past your lies?

Posted by AliasRomanian 22 February, 2009 As News (1) Comment

It seems like everyone and their mothers are eating up Playstion 3’s latest DLC release Noby Noby Boy and rightfully so because it is a very unique game. However unique does not equal fun and I am not having fun with this title. Here is the video review and below the video is a quick paragraph review.

Noby Noby Boy Video Review from Stefan Stignei on Vimeo.

Now I like weird games with simple controls, artistic graphics, and a different concept but I also like having some sort of objective and Noby doesn’t have one. It’s a sandbox title where the player controls BOY who is able to stretch, jump around, fly in the air, eat things up , and just interact with everything else in the world without any sort of reward. I like to know that when I invest my time into something there is some sort of outcome be it getting a new item, moving on to the next more difficult ending, or just plain getting bigger. As a man, I need an pleasurable closure.

Top 3 DLC games that should go multiplatform

Posted by AliasRomanian 15 February, 2009 As News, Playstation, Wii, Xbox (0) Comment

Everyone always looks at what exclusive AAA title their favorite consoles have and then go crazy when an exclusive game is announced as a cross platform. This doesn’t bother me at all and I wish more games went multi platform but some limitations such as disc storage, controller functinallity, and just plain old past contracts prevent this. What I don’t understand is why developers choose to release their DLC only games on just one console. Below are the top 3 DLC games, one from each console that should be cross platform.

Braid
XBOX360

One of the most beautiful looking platformer/puzzle games across all systems. This game is more about trying to figure out how to get past a level by using Tim’s (the protagonist) powers rather than timing a jump Continue Reading This Post

Mega Man 9 too hard :(

Posted by AliasRomanian 21 October, 2008 As News (0) Comment

So I’ve been playing Mega Man 9 for the past few weeks and just can’t seem to get a good handle on it. I’m not sure if it’s my old age but I just never remembered any of the Mega Man’s being so hard. The way that the levels are designed it’s almost like they know when you are going to jump and have an enemy come out of nowhere to knock you to your doom.

At first I accepted this challenge but now I’m just finding myself going to easier modern day games where you can’t lose. Maybe once I have kids I’ll have them beat Mega Man 9 for me so I can brag to everyone that I did it.

Chu Chu Rocket Please!

Posted by AliasRomanian 20 October, 2008 As News, PC, Playstation, Wii, Xbox (0) Comment

Chu Chu Rocket was one of the most intense and best multiplayer games that came out in the last 10 years. I don’t think I could hate anyone more than a chump who placed his arrow in order to steal my mice!

If you’ve never played this game your basically trying to get mice to go to your space ship while avoiding cats and pitfalls. This is done by placing arrows that either go up, down, left, or right and it may sound simple but once you have 3 other people who trying to do the same thing it gets very intense and competitive.

I’m just surprised that Sega hasn’t put this out on VC, PSN, Live, or my favorite Steam service. I’d easily drop 10 bucks for this game (especially if it was on steam and I could use a mouse). Hopefully a release comes out sooner rather than later but until then I’m leaving everyone with this:

My long hiatus is over

Posted by AliasRomanian 20 October, 2008 As News (0) Comment

Well I’m back for good now and hlpe to be updating this page on a daily basis. If there is no dlc news for that day then you will just be forced to read my nonsensical sentances. Sure you can look away or go to back to your site of choice hopefully it has something to do with video games but I don’t judge.

Anyways my next big post will be comparing the different places you can get dlc from.

I want DLC for MGS4 Now!

Posted by AliasRomanian 20 June, 2008 As News (1) Comment

I’m not talking about the multiplayer content, in fact don’t even get me started on the multiplayer dlc for MGS4 or even the multiplayer infrastructure. What I want is single player episodic content coming my way every 6 months, no scratch that I want it every 6 freaking weeks, heck I would love to play MGS1, 2, and 3 over again with the new engine :). Sadly I know this will never happen.

Top 5 Overpriced Downloadable Content

Posted by AliasRomanian 19 June, 2008 As News (5) Comment

Every now and then publishers get greedy and find ways to nickel and dime customers with dlc. Below is my top 5 list for the content which should have been in a different price range.

5. Penny Arcade Adventures: On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness
Price: $19.99, should have been $9.99

I’m a huge fan of Penny Arcade’s comic strip and forum (I usually just lurk around hehehehe. . . WAHAHAHAHAHHAHA . . . sorry about that I got a bit carried away) but to launch their PA episodic Continue Reading This Post

LostWinds Review

Posted by Baron Samedi 23 May, 2008 As News, Wii (0) Comment

Game: LostWinds
System: WiiWare
Publisher: Frontier
Players: 2
Cost: 1000 Wii Points
ESRB Rating: E
Similar Games: Metroid, Zelda, Mario, Okami, Kirby

You are Toku, a small, village boy, and Enril, spirit of the wind. Together you set off on a short, 4-hour adventure to free the idyllic Mistralis from the curse of Balazar. The gameplay is all puzzle-based, 2D platforming, with a world map that flows from deep caves to high waterfall, Metroid-style. A feeling of calm pervades LostWinds. Its spare soundtrack evokes a natural beauty that complements its clean, simple visuals of feudal Mistralis (Japan).

Team Fortress 2 DLC for Xbox

Posted by AliasRomanian 21 May, 2008 As News, Xbox (0) Comment

Valve is planning on releasing some Team Fortress 2 dlc onto the Xbox 360 (which many PC gamers have been playing for a while now). As of yet they have no plans on bringing this content onto the PS3 and there is no solid scheduled release date for the 360. I expect that the hold up is finding out what to charge XBL customers for these downloads. If I had to pay for the PC dlc then I would easily fork over $5 for the weapons and new map.

New Ace Combat 6 DLC

Posted by AliasRomanian 21 May, 2008 As News, Xbox (0) Comment

On May 29th Namco Bandai will be releasing 8 new plane models ranging from 300 to 400 MS Points. I’m glad that content keeps on coming in but for me it’s hard to throw down cash for nothing more than a new plane. If these planes came with specific missions it would be a much easier swallow.

Below are the new plane models. Enjoy!

Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My Life as a King

Posted by AliasRomanian 20 May, 2008 As News, Wii (0) Comment

Rating: ★★☆☆☆

System: Wii
Publisher: Square Enix
Players: 1
Cost: $15-$30+

Premise-

Set in the Crystal Chronicles universe a young king is tasked to rebuild a ruined city with the help of his friends and hired adventurers.

Gameplay-

The player takes control of the young king and starts off on his task to once again bring glory to the city. This is done by hiring adventurers to go out and gather resources for you, using those resources to build houses and shops, and collecting a tax from your subjects to get better equipment and hire new adventurers. Adventurers are controlled by the AI once they go out on a mission (referred to as a behest) so you are never actually battling monsters. However, you do get updated with their progress with a type of RSS feed on the top right corner. Once the day ends you also get a detailed report on the entire dungeon crawling mission. A day in this game is roughly 5 minutes which you can skip ahead if you’ve done everything for that day which is a nice feature. Continue Reading This Post

DLC Reviews up and running . . .

Posted by Stefan 17 May, 2008 As News (0) Comment

Well this is the first post for what I hope to be a great time in reporting and reviewing all the dlc info out on the intrawebs. As you all can tell the site is still being updated and in the next week I hope to get four reviews up and set up a forum. Also, if you’re an awesome I hacker please don’t hack into this site and mess it up as I’m sure I won’t be able to figure out how to fix it.
